AMA Team USA
2009 International Six Days Enduro
There are three premier teams that represent the U.S. at the ISDE. The World Trophy
Team features six riders who compete in all three displacement classes that contest
the ISDE: the E1 class, which features 100cc to 125cc two-stroke and 175cc to 250cc
four-stroke motorcycles; the E2 class, which features 175cc to 250cc two-stroke
and 290cc to 450cc four-stroke motorcycles; and the E3 class, which features 290cc
to 500cc two-stroke and 475cc to 650cc four-stroke motorcycles.
The Junior Trophy Team fields four riders younger than 23 years old, competing in
a minimum of two classes, and the Women's Trophy Team fields three riders. Also
part of Team USA are members on various club teams made up of riders from all over
the country.
Here are the riders who make up AMA Team USA in 2009.
World Trophy Team

Destry Abbott
Destry Abbott is contesting the AMA Racing National Hare & Hound Championship Series
and the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) for Monster Energy Kawasaki.
The 36-year-old five-time AMA National Hare & Hound Champion is a three-time ISDE
Gold Medalist and will be representing the U.S. on the Trophy Team for the fifth
time. Last year, Abbott finished ninth in the E2 class.

Kurt Caselli
The 25-year-old Caselli is returning to represent the U.S. Trophy team for the third
time. Casilli, who rides for Shock Doctor/KTM in the Grand National Cross Country
Series, battled for the overall lead at the 2008 ISDE before crashing out on day
three. In 2007, Caselli also led a significant portion of the event before ultimately
winning the E3 class. In 2006, Caselli was a member of the championship Junior Trophy
Team.

Ricky Dietrich
Ricky Dietrich, 21, was the top-finishing American at the 2008 ISDE, where he finished
second to Spain’s Ivan Cervantes for both the overall and in the E1 class. Dietrich
also joined Caselli on the championship 2006 Junior Trophy Team and currently races
off-road events for Monster Energy Kawasaki. This will be Dietrich's second time
representing the U.S. on the Trophy Team and his third time representing the U.S.
in the ISDE.

Damon Huffman
Huffman, 34, is a two-time West regional 125cc AMA Supercross champion, who went
on to enjoy a long career in both motocross and Supercross before making the transition
to off-road two years ago. Huffman finished second in the AMA EnduroCross series
in 2008 and a solid fourth in WORCS.

Nate Kanney
Nate Kanney, 26, is currently contesting the AMA GNCC Series for Shock Doctor/KTM.
Kanney is an experienced ISDE and World Enduro Championship rider. Last year, he
finished eighth in the E3 class.

Timmy Weigand
Timmy Weigand races for Johnny Campbell Racing in WORCS and the AMA Western Hare
Scrambles Championship, where he currently is in the points lead. This will be Weigand’s
first trip to the ISDE.
Junior Trophy Team

David Kamo
David Kamo races for Shock Doctor KTM. He finished second overall in the 2008 AMA
National Hare & Hound Championship. He also competed on the Junior Trophy Team last
year, winning a gold medal. He currently is contesting the AMA National Hare & Hound
Championship and select Western Hare Scrambles events.

Russell Bobbitt
Shock Doctor KTM’s Russell Bobbitt is the defending AMA National Enduro Champion,
where he is currently leading the points race for the 2009 title. Bobbitt was a
member of the championship 2006 Junior Trophy Team.

Cory Buttrick
Cory Buttrick races for Shock Doctor KTM in the Grand National Cross Country Series,
contesting the XC2 class. Buttrick is currently second in the points race for the
XC2 title. Earlier this year, Buttrick won the AMA Off-Road Vintage Grand National
Championship. This is Buttrick’s first time racing the ISDE.

Jamie Lanza
The 21-year-old Jamie Lanza is backed by Northland Motorsports and Precision Concepts
in WORCS and the AMA EnduroCross series. This is Lanza’s first trip to the ISDE.
Women's Trophy Team

Mandi Mastin
Mandi Mastin, who competes on Yamaha motorcycles in national harescrambles, enduros
and the Grand National Cross Country Series, will be returning for her eighth trip
to the ISDE and her third time since the Women’s division was created.

Maria Forsberg
Maria Forsberg is a factory KTM rider who’s contracted to race in the Grand National
Cross Country Series in 2010. This will be Maria’s second trip to the ISDE.

Lacy Jones
Lacy Jones is a long-time off-road racer from Port Neches, Texas. She was a member
of the 2007 Women’s Trophy Team that won the World Championship that year. Jones
rides a Kawasaki KX250F. In her day job, Jones teaches sixth-grade math and history,
and is a volleyball and softball coach.
