AMA Team USA bikes enter impound ahead of International Six Days Enduro in Portugal

Other than a few "sound retests," all 34 riders from AMA Team USA easily made it into impound Saturday afternoon. The U.S. team was the last ISDE team to impound its bikes.
According to Team USA Manager Bruce Wakeley, spirits were high as most riders where looking forward to having Sunday off before the ISDE starts on Monday morning.
“It’s been a long week,” Wakeley said. “Most riders got here Monday afternoon and didn’t get to access their bikes until Tuesday morning. Then it’s unpack the container, set up the easy ups and get to work.
“A lot of the riders spend the first couple of days making final adjustments to their bikes, making jetting and suspension changes and walking tests,” Wakeley continued. “Each night, we have team meetings and the next day it starts all over again. By Saturday it’s a big relief when the bikes finally get into impound. During impound, we had a couple of sound retests and one faulty brake light switch. Other than that it went real smooth.”
Wakeley said traditionally Sunday is a free day for the riders and support crews to do as they please.
“The real fun starts Monday morning.” Wakeley added.
